Hi everyone, In light of recent events I want to start by thanking you all for being so understanding in relation to the temporary closure of Basketball ACT activities.
As we work through the implications of this temporary shutdown I am conscious that you will no doubt be fielding questions from your players / coaches / managers / parents and will have a number of questions for us, particularly around the summer competition shut down and any potential arrangements for the winter competition. Please rest assured we are working through many of these questions / issues systematically in order to provide some clarity, particularly around the impact and potential timeframes. Whilst we do not have all the answers yet, and may not have some of the answers for a little while yet, I thought it important that we pass on the information that we do have to date, and try and take on board some of your questions to ensure we are addressing the concerns that are important to you all.
As such please see below details for you to log into an update teleconference that I will be hosting on Thursday afternoon.
This update is open to Presidents or club delegates from each club. To ensure that this doesn’t become too unwieldy and that everyone has an opportunity to ask questions, can we please ensure we keep this to just one delegate / president per club. Fact sheets and additional information will also hopefully be distributed prior to the meeting which we anticipate will provide context to many of your questions. Off the back of this I am happy to schedule a follow up teleconference for early next week to respond to any questions from this meeting that we weren’t able to answer, or alternately to field additional questions as they arise.
As this is a rapidly evolving situation I would like to thank you again for your understanding and patience as we work through this difficult period. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly and want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to minimise the impact on all of the basketball community.
