We want to send a reminder to all those attending games to play by the rules when parking.
Parking safely and legally at local sporting events is important for the safety of our kids.
Vehicles parked illegally can reduce visibility and create a safety risk for children, who can be hard to see and unpredictable or easily distracted around roads.
The ACT Government advises that drivers who disregard the road rules and parking signs at local sporting events risk a fine.
By parking by the rules you are keeping us all safe.
- on the verge -$ 125 fine
- in a ‘no parking’ zones – $125 fine
- on footpaths or across driveways – $125 fine
- in bus zones – $168 fine
- in ‘no stopping’ zones – $280 fine
- in mobility (disabled) spaces – $625 fine.
Can’t find a park? Be a sport, park legally and venture further afield.
You’ll be keeping us all safe and it will be good for your fitness too!
Please also remember to treat our parking inspectors with respect.
Like umpires on the field, they are enforcing the rules to keep us all safe.
