Player registration consists of three separate fees: the Marist Basketball registration fee, Basketball ACT membership fee, and Basketball Australia game development levy. Regardless of circumstance, Marist Basketball is only able to provide refunds on our component of the registration fees. Basketball ACT membership fee refunds are covered by their refund policy and must be requested using their Refund Request Form. The Basketball Australia game development levy cannot be refunded.
Marist Basketball fees are non-refundable once team lists have been registered with Basketball ACT. This is because the Club is required to pay fees to Basketball ACT for each team we register with them, and team registrations are based on the number of player registrations in each age group when team lists are developed.
However, when circumstances outside of a player or their family’s control results in a player being unable to participate in the basketball season (e.g. serious long-term injury or departure from the College), a request for full or partial refund can be submitted to the Club Committee for consideration. Requests will be assessed by the Committee at the next Committee Meeting, usually held monthly. You will be contacted after the meeting with the Committee’s decision.
Please note:
- The Committee is unlikely to consider a clash of times with other sports to be grounds for a refund.
- An administration fee will be deducted from any refund of Club fees to cover the processing costs incurred by the club.
- Successful refund applications will not be paid until the player’s jersey (singlet) has been returned to either the team manager or college (in a bag with the player’s name, age group, team name and jersey number recorded on it).
