Marist Basketball Club Update
Dear Marist Basketball Club Community
The Committee hopes that all boys and their families are enjoying the basketball season.
There are a few things that are coming up in the next month or so that the Committee, and the College, wanted to provide an update on.
In 2021, BACT changed their competition format to one main season, being the “winter” season that we are now competing in. All awards, Club administration and player development are run around this main season.
This year, in addition to the main season, BACT will offer a wide variety of “summer” basketball competitions including the:
– Junior Summer Social;
– Junior 3 x 3 Summer;
– Junior Summer Slam; and
– Junior Summer Open.
The Junior Summer Social, Slam and Open competitions will run in a traditional 5 x 5 format over a seven week period in Term 4, with the Junior 3 x 3 competition extending into 2022.
While the College, and all other School-based clubs, will not compete in the Junior Summer Open, all boys are able to play in the Junior Summer Social and Junior 3 x 3 Summer. Those meeting BACT eligibility criteria are also able to trial for the Junior Summer Slam. Details on the Junior Summer Social, 3 x 3 Summer and Slam competitions are provided below.
